A sacred uninhabited island (the two islands of Kamiji and Shimoji). There is no scheduled ferry; landing is possible only via tours departing from Ishigaki, Kohama, or Hateruma. The beach on Shimoji is the main landing point. The island's sacred areas (utaki, Otakabi) are off-limits. Wearing a wetsuit is recommended during box jellyfish season. Cell phone signal is weak.
