The signature beach of Hateruma Island, Japan's southernmost inhabited island. A five-minute walk from the port. Its trademark is the turquoise gradient known as 'Hateruma Blue.' The outer current on the port side is strong; obey the buoy markers. Box jellyfish season runs from May to October.
