Bonggil Beach

Bonggil Beach

봉길해수욕장 · North Gyeongsang, Korea

An East Sea beach located directly in front of the Tomb of King Munmu. Its character is more that of a sightseeing site tied to sunrises and historic remains than a beach proper. The Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant lies about 2 km to the south, which concerns some visitors, but the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' water-quality tests have rated it acceptable in most years. It opens as an official swimming beach in July and August.
